About My Work
The subject of my work is the human figure, often, although not always, isolated. I tend to avoid painting images with a direct narrative content. I am interested, rather, in the borderlines that humans occupy between the physical and the cerebral, the animal and the spiritual. My work increasingly seeks a direct empathetic response from the viewer and is concerned with the beautiful, tragic vulnerability of the human condition.
While my paintings are exclusively in oils, my drawings are predominantly executed in charcoal or graphite, often combined with ink or acrylic on board canvas, paper or glass.
I work in a range of scales and my pieces can be bought from between £200 and £1000
